Commentary: This morning my alarm went off, and I turned it off and went back to sleep. I woke up 45 minutes later and finally got out of bed. Having zero motivation to do anything productive I snuggled with the cat for a few hours and fucked off on my phone. I did get a handful of Christmas cards done though!

One of my Black Friday/Cyber Monday purchases was a new heart rate monitor. I’ve been using two different heart rate monitors depending on where I’m running. On the treadmill, I use the one with Bluetooth that doesn’t give me fancy running data. Outside I use the one that gives me fancy running data but only connects via ANT+. My new Garmin HRM Pro+ gives me all the fancy running data and connects via Bluetooth.

Tried out using a bladder instead of a water bottle on the treadmill, and I like it a lot better. Way easier to get a drink!

I used my new HRM for my run today, and it was so nice to get running data on my run! My ground contact balance is still wonky, but not as bad as it was before. Yay progress! After my run, I took my time stretching, and it felt soooo good.

Instead of putting it off, I did my strength training right after my run. When I started my workout my only calories for the day consisted of a splash of maple syrup in my coffee, 8 oz of recovery drink, and a few pieces of cheese. This could be why my workout felt so hard and exhausting. Note to self – eat real food on doubles days before you workout. Duh.

I had a long list of stuff I wanted to get done today, but all I managed was a few Christmas cards and my workouts. Wait! I went grocery shopping too! And I made cranberry sauce for the Christmas party tonight, where I will probably eat too much. Oh well! Speaking of the Christmas party, I need to get ready…

  1. alright! I love my Garmin 945..I don’t watch it constantly, more like look afterwards where my HR was when, my pace..and yes, footstrikes….I also like that it’ll count and measure my distances indoors on a track or in a pool..I still use my Polar M460 on my bike, but if I start triathlon training it’ll be the 945 for everything…easy to use…
