How It Felt: Rough! My lungs didn’t feel right, so the run felt tough even though my heart rate stayed low in Zone 2 the whole time.

Commentary: Not sure if this is fourth winter or fifth winter, but it’s snowing again. I might never run outside in Idaho Falls ever again… Between the change in weather and pushing myself on Friday and Saturday, my lungs aren’t happy with me. And it feels like I’m on the verge of getting sick. One of coworkers feels the same, so perhaps it is the weather. Who knows.
In an effort to not get full-blown sick and help out my lungs, I started taking Zicam and rubbing “Breathe Ease” essential oil on my chest. Although I planned to do hill repeats Wednesday morning, I decided not to run. Skipping the run means sleeping in and a better chance for a speedy recovery. Putting extra stress on my body won’t be beneficial if I get so sick I am forced to take time off to recover. Perhaps Thursday I’ll do an easy run to see how it feels and go from there.
