Gratitude instead of b*tching

Date: 1/25/22
Training Day: 51
Miles: 2.1 (strides, treadmill)
Time: 30
Shoes: Xero HFS

How It Felt: It took a while for my legs to warm up. After the first stride I felt more loose, and the run felt better.

Commentary: I was pretty sad to be running on the treadmill, but fuck if I was going to run in the dark with a temp of 7°F. I miss Southern Utah.

I’d written paragraphs bitching about work and what I call “domesticated life,” but I deleted because it doesn’t matter. Bitching about my life, which is much better than a lot of people’s, is stupid. And it doesn’t change anything. Thankfully my husband helped to tweak my perspective and get me back on the track of gratitude.

I’m grateful my job is paying for me to go to school. I’m grateful I make enough money to save so that one day we can live in the van and not work for a few years. I’m grateful we live in a house that I like and is big enough for a home gym. I’m grateful for the friends I have made here in Idaho and the adventures we go on together. And I’m grateful for the amazing people I work with.
