Pop goes the hip
Date: 10/7/21
Training Day: 24
Miles: 3.6
Shoes: Altra Paradigm 5
Weather: Mostly cloudy, mid 50s
Strength Training: Body Pump #99 Metabolic Blast
How It Felt: Body Pump made me feel like a noodle, but it felt good. The run felt surprisingly good considering I worked out my legs this morning.
Commentary: It’s been FOREVER since I’ve done strength training. And the last time I did Body Pump I was sore before the day was over. Also, my knee has been sucking. So, I decided to take it easy on the weights today.
I stuck with my warmup weight for the squat track. And for the lung track I actually ditched the weights. That was a first for me. But I’m glad I did.

During the squat track I felt a pop around my hip flexor. At first I wondered what I did to fuck myself up even more. But when it came time to stretch I noticed that weird pain in my hip flexor was gone. Interesting…
My knee still bothered me throughout the day, but during my run it felt fine. And my hip felt pretty good doing my post-run stretches. So, I’m hoping my hip problem is the thing of past. Fingers crossed!
On a side note, I am loving my chocolate protein shake and Huel.
