Sleep, sleep, sleep
Date: 3/3/21
Training Day: 40
Miles: 3.9
Time: 45 min
Shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21
Weather: N/A (indoors on a treadmill)
Strength Training: Legs
How It Felt: The run felt good, but I’m really getting tired of having to furiously swing my arms so my watch picks up the right pace and doesn’t beep at me. Need to get outside for runs instead of a stupid treadmill! The leg workout was good, other than waiting 15 minutes for the Bosu ball…
Commentary: Last night I was out! I slept like the dead. But I didn’t feel quite as refreshed as I expected. Perhaps it is the running so close to bedtime that messes me up. This really only matters on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays because those are the days I do a workout or run before and after work.
For now, I can get up before the butt crack of dawn and knock my runs out. I don’t think the strength training after work messes up my sleep quite as much. Another idea I had is to run right after work at work. Since my commute is 45 minutes, this gives my body an extra 45 minutes to wind down after a run. I think I shall test this theory tomorrow.
Of course another reason I might not be sleeping as well is stress. I’m in the process of buying a house. On top of that, things are a little meh at home.
Also, I could just stop analyzing why I don’t sleep well. Instead, I could just be grateful for the nights I sleep well.
