Three times the charm
Date: 3/6/21
Training Day: 43
Miles: 10.4
Time: 110 min
Shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21
Weather: Partly cloudy, mid-40s, kinda windy
How It Felt: The run felt great! When I was heading into the wind it didn’t feel quite as good, hahaha. The tailwind was quite nice though! Overall, a fantastic run!
Commentary: Think that ten minutes of running a nine-minute mile on Thursday jacked me up. This morning I woke up and my lungs felt like shit. It had me wondering if it was a wise idea to run outside today.
I took a hit off my inhaler to see if that would help. My breathing still didn’t feel quite normal. So I huffed some essential oils. That helped a little bit more.
This got me rethinking Garmin Coach Greg. I really like the running for time not miles, but I don’t like how fast some segments of the speed workouts are. Sure, I don’t have to go as fast as Coach Greg says I do. But I have this weird complex that forces me to try.
So I fired Coach Greg. And yet again, I’m changing up my training plan. I went back to my old plan and converted all the miles to time. Now I can run at my pace and push myself just hard enough without jacking up my lungs. It’s all psychological, really, but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.
Oh, and I used thin wool socks for gloves, and they worked fantastic!
