Ten-day weekend

Dates: 7/2/21 – 7/11/21
Training Day: Doesn’t matter
Miles: 70 rafting + 33 backpacking
Fish Caught: Too many to count
Nights in a tent: 8
Weather: Hot!

How It Felt: Vacation always feels good! As does being outside 24/7 for days. But, my knee did start bothering me on the last day of our backpacking trip

Commentary: My husband and I spent five days on the Snake River rafting through Hells Canyon with 17 other dirt bags. Then we went home for one night, packed for a three-day backpacking trip, and hiked the Teton Crest.

There is so much I want to share about both trips, but it’s simply too much to write. In as few words as possible I can describe both trips as a feeling of freedom and gratitude.

Living out of a dry bag and a backpack helps remind me how little I need in life. Traveling through and living in the landscape painted by mother nature makes me grateful for our public lands.

The rest of the trips I will share in pictures. Enjoy.
