Shin splints & hot springs

Date: 3/28/21
Training Day: 65
Miles: 3.5 (hiking)
Weather: Sunny, low 60s

How It Felt: The hike a short out and back with a couple good steep sections. But it felt good to climb a little after a winter of relatively flat snowshoeing.

Commentary: My shins are killing me after our fast pavement walk yesterday. I don’t know if soaking in a hot spring for two hours helped or not, but the water sure felt good!

My husband and I had good timing. As we approached the hot spring some folks were leaving. We found a pool to ourselves that had two small waterfalls. One was like bathwater, and the other felt like lava. Between the two we had a good temperature variety in our pool.

On our way out we picked up trash, orange peels, banana peels and socks that careless folks left behind. And this time I remembered to bring shorts to hike in once it warmed up!
