Hiking and running

Date: 2/28/21
Training Day: 37
Miles: 4
Time: 45 min
Shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21
Weather: N/A (indoors on a treadmill)
Strength Training: Legs

How It Felt: The run felt harder than it should have, but I also forgot my inhaler, so maybe that’s why. Leg workout felt great!

Commentary: When I first started training I worried that hiking with my runs might adversely affect my run training. On the hike today I realized they’ll more than likely help my training. The key to running ultras is the ability to run/jog/walk on tired legs. Running a bunch of miles and then hiking hiking a bunch of miles is a good way to get my legs used to working while tired.

Yup. That’s all I have to say about that.
