Cold + Lungs = Meh
Date: 1/26/21
Training Day: 4
Miles: 3 (intervals)
Time: 36 min
Shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21
Weather: N/A (indoors on a treadmill)
Strength Training: Biceps
How It Felt: My right bicep is definitely way stronger than the left one, but I suppose that’s to be expected since I’m right handed. I took the run a little slower than usual (see commentary), but I felt pretty darn good!
Commentary: The intense exercise in the cold over the weekend took a toll on my lungs. I could breathe just fine, but my lungs felt tight. Instead of getting up stupid early this morning, I slept in. I didn’t go to the gym before work either, but I did bring my workout stuff with me.
Because of the COVID, I wanted to be sure it was the “strenuous” weekend and not the plague that was making my lungs feel funky. During my lunch break, a visit to the doc confirmed my theory. I left his office with a prescription of Albuterol. Well, he called in the prescription to Walmart.
I scurried on over to Walmart to pick it up before my lunch break was over, and they told me 20 minutes. Twenty minutes later they told me they didn’t have Albuterol and to talk to the drop-off pharm tech. I really wanted it because I thought it might help me with my workout in the afternoon. Luckily, after ten minutes he found an acceptable substitute, but told me I’d have to wait another 20 minutes. Since I needed to get back to work, I gave up, went to work, and went to the gym without my Albuterol.
