Cold, slap in the face

Date: 5/18/21
Training Day: 116
Miles: 4.1
Time: 45 min
Shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21
Weather: Clear skies, low 50s

How It Felt: The run wasn’t anything special, but it felt quite nice running in a tank top at 5am by the river.

Commentary: When I checked the weather this morning I was pleasantly surprised to find it warmer than expected. I swapped my full length leggings for capris and my Buff for a headband and headed to the Greenbelt.

Being a creature of habit, I started running in my usual direction. Then it hit me that I’ve never ran counterclockwise around the Greenbelt. I turned around to spice things up.

Bad idea.

Not far past my car an arsenal of sprinklers spewed cold water all over the path. I attempted to weave my way through the streams of water. After I got slapped in the face with icy water I cursed while turning around and sprinted.

Maybe I’ll try counterclockwise the next time I run during the day when the sprinklers aren’t going.
